I resisted packing cubes for years because they seemed like organizing for its own sake. The compression zipper is what changed my mind. Fill the cube, zip it closed, then zip the second zipper around the outside and it squeezes down to about half the thickness. Five shirts become a paperback.
The set has two of each size. The large takes pants and a sweater, the medium takes shirts, the small takes socks and underwear. Everything lands in the Osprey bag with room for shoes.
They weigh almost nothing, and unpacking at the hotel is dropping three cubes in a drawer.
Compression wrinkles cotton shirts. Merino and synthetics come out fine. And they do not reduce weight, only volume, so the bag is still heavy. That is the trade.
