We owned a full-size salad spinner for years and used it maybe once a month because it took up half a cabinet. This little one lives on the counter and gets used almost daily. Herbs, a bag of greens, berries, one head of lettuce. Pump three or four times, hit the brake, dry greens.

The pump mechanism is the reason to buy OXO instead of the cheap ones. The lid locks flat for storage and the brake stops it dead so you are not waiting for it to spin down.

It is small. A full head of romaine has to go in two batches. If you make big salads for a crowd, get the large one. For two adults and two kids this size is right, and the bowl goes straight to the table.
