We had a Brita for years. I switched because ZeroWater comes with a little meter and I wanted to see the number instead of trusting a label. Our tap reads around 180 on the meter. Out of this pitcher it reads zero. Out of the old Brita it read about 120. That settled it for me.
The water tastes flat at first because everything is gone, including the minerals. You get used to it in a week, and coffee and tea taste noticeably cleaner.
The trade-off is filter life. Because it removes everything, the filter fills up faster than a Brita, and once the meter reads 6 you change it. For us that is about five to six weeks. Filters cost more, so budget for it.
The pitcher has a spout on the bottom, which is handy for filling bottles without lifting it.
This is the one we’d buy again.
