My espresso routine on the Breville used to be grind, poke with the WDT tool, tamp, hope. Shots were inconsistent. Adding this leveler between the WDT and the tamp made them consistent, which is worth more than any single upgrade I have made.

You set the depth once with the twist ring, then two spins on top of the basket and the grounds are flat. The tamper then just does its job instead of fixing a lopsided bed.

The 53.3mm sizing is the important detail. Breville baskets are marketed as 54mm but the real inside diameter is a bit under, so a true 54mm tool jams. This one fits the Barista Express Impress and the Bambino baskets perfectly.

Heavy, well machined, no wobble. If you have the 54mm Normcore portafilter and the IKAPE WDT tool, this completes the set.
